After the impressive development of the craft beer scene in the UK and the USA, Sapaudia Brewing Co. decided in 2018 that it was time to also offer high-quality, locally brewed beer in the Tarentaise region. The brewery is located in the heart of the valley and can supply 40 ski resorts in the area. With state-of-the-art brewing technology, Sapaudia is able to produce up to 20,000 liters of beer per month, ensuring a constant supply of independently produced, high-quality craft beer for locals and tourists.

Historical Heritage of the Tarentaise Valley

The Tarentaise Valley is rich in history, from Celtic tribes to Hannibal's legendary march with elephants in 218 BC. In modern times, two significant developments have emerged in this impressive geographical region: hydroelectric power plants to supply large industries and numerous world-famous ski resorts. Today, the Tarentaise Valley hosts the three largest ski areas in the world, attracting hundreds of thousands of skiers, bikers, and hikers annually. Despite the love for this valley, it has often been difficult to find a good, non-industrially produced beer without additives after a busy day.

Brewiks 24 hour Challenge

A special event at Sapaudia Brewing Co. was the Sapaudia 24h Challenge. In collaboration with Brewiks, a total of 5,000 liters of beer were brewed within 24 hours using the Brewiks 500 and the optional Brewiks PLUS extension. A total heating power of 36 kW was used, along with 1,037 kg of malt, 10.25 kg of hops, and 4 kg of yeast. Eight batches were brewed in total.
