Safety Instructions

General Safety Instructions

The Brewiks is made almost entirely of stainless steel (electrically conductive). For this reason, it must only be operated via a residual-current device with a 0.1 A tripping current. Usually, an RCD is already present in the house wiring. Please check this before starting!

The appliance and the power cord must be regularly inspected for signs of damage. If any damage is found, the appliance must not be used.

Always unplug the appliance from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cord) when not in use, for cleaning, or in case of a malfunction. Place the power cord in a way that it does not come into contact with sharp objects. The cord must be fully uncoiled.

If using an extension cord, it should have the same current capacity. It must also be fully uncoiled. Do not use a power strip, as our appliance is too powerful. Avoid overloading the electrical fuse. Due to the high power requirement of Brewiks, do not turn on other large power-consuming devices on the same circuit. Fire hazard!

The Brewiks may only be used for its intended purpose and in flawless condition with its safety devices. Before each use, make sure it is in good working condition.

For child safety, do not leave any packaging materials (cardboard, styrofoam, etc.) within reach. Do not let young children play with plastic wrap. Choking hazard!

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with restricted physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and/or knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive instructions on how to use the device from that person.

Children should be supervised to ensure they stay away from the device and do not play with it.

Special Safety Instructions

The container, lid, and attached parts will get very hot. At the end of the brewing process, the kettle contains boiling wort. Follow the setup instructions. Never move the Brewiks when it is hot. Always use an oven cloth or gloves when working on and with the Brewiks. Risk of burns!

When lifting the lid, make sure that the condensation on the underside of the lid runs back into the container. Therefore, hold the lid at an angle over the container. Risk of scalding!

The Brewiks is always operated via a residual current device. In case of a technical defect, there is a risk of electric shock!

Always perform cleaning of the Brewiks with the plug pulled out of the socket (disconnected from the power grid). Do not clean the device with splashing water and not close to electrical components. Risk of electric shock!

Important notice: It is mandatory that the power box is closed when operating the control unit. Risk of fire!

Before each use, the pump must be prepared to avoid running dry. Follow the maintenance and inspection instructions to avoid hazards from old, worn components.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE

The Brewiks uses a centrifugal pump that must always be flooded before the pump starts. If the pump runs without liquid (water or wort), the seal in the pump can be damaged.

If the pump is not used properly, the warranty on the seal is void.
